Seeking full creative freedom over his exploratory output, Mees founded his independent imprint, MEES Records, in 2012. The label served as the launchpad for his debut album, Wild Window (2013): a 14-track release praised by critics as a rich antidote to cold electronics that hit #1 on Amsterdam's Concerto chart. Dubbed the "poet of dance," his signature approach quickly carried his sound from the studio to iconic international stages, including Glastonbury, DC10 Ibiza, DGTL, and Fusion Festival.

His evolving discography spans deeply expressive, dancefloor-oriented EPs like Wavers Huwol and Aviar Alom, alongside atmospheric releases inspired by global tours through Tokyo, New York, Berlin, and Ibiza. Whether creating peak-time club tracks or introspective soundscapes like Duality, Can't Run Today and Unfolding Fertility, Mees remains dedicated to continuous sonic evolution, while keeping the freedom to dance at the heart of every track he composes.
